One day, Clotilde came to the workshop with several large mother-of-pearl shells she had kept from her childhood. They were magnificent… and we imagined creating a brooch and a pair of earrings. After several sketches, Clotilde chose variations around a tri-lobed motif that I really love because it reminds me of coral reefs… Each piece was cut with a very fine saw… and then riveted onto the silver structures of the brooch and the earrings. A long, painstaking process… but very rewarding, for Clotilde as well as for the jeweler!
